HFSleuth issue

Postby Guest » Tue Apr 16, 2013 4:31 pm

Hello,

Working with understanding Hfsleuth and I am having trouble running the program. The machine is a G5. Is Hfsleuth compiled to run on a G5?

Thanks!

Hello Daniel,

HFSleuth is available for x86/x64. I did, however, get my hands on an old G5, so I'll make it my project for the day to get XCode installed on it, and compile you a version. Updates will follow.

Done. You now have a universal binary in http://newosxbook.com/files/hfsleuth.universal (also q.v. the RSS feed, http://newosxbook.com/rss.php). Note there might be a few glitches, since I didn't figure I'd need big endian support, but fortunately I used macros everywhere(?), so a test run seems to work ok. If you find any bugs, please do report them.

Wow! :D

Works great so far. I have run through the commands and will identify any bugs that I find.

Much appreciated!

Hello,

Found one thing - running attributes, I keep getting a bus error.

HFSleuth(Mac OS:/)> attributes
attributes B-Tree dump:
Bus error

Will keep you updated.
Thanks.

Fixed. Should now also work on the attributes tree (though searching for an attribute is not yet implemented).

You might want to try this on Snow Leopard, as well, to see the compression attributes/etc which Apple put in as of 10.6

Keep finding them bugs, please.
